Students are responsible for the materials checked out on their records and are expected to keep them in acceptable condition. Any damage to or defacement of the book must be reported during the first month of school for either a replacement copy to be issued or a note to be made on the system.
If a student loses or returns a damaged book, they will be required to pay the book's purchase price. The excuse of "that's the way I got it," "I didn't do that," "I don't know," or "It's been in my locker the whole year" will not be accepted. Damages are but are not limited to: torn/damaged cover, ripped/missing pages, missing barcode, stains, liquid damage, mildew, writings, chewed, and burned. Please make sure all fines are taken care of as soon as possible. District-issued fines stay on the students' accounts as they move up the grades and change schools.
Students are required to return all textbooks and any novels after the end of the school year if a class/teacher change occurs, at the direction/request of the teacher, or if the student checks out of Rowland High School. Students are financially responsible for all lost, damaged, or stolen books. Please be responsible.
Our policy is consistent with the California Education Code: EC 48904.a.1. and EC 48904.b.1.
WORKBOOKS
Workbooks are consumable (Except in Korean Classes). They do not need to be returned at the end of the year. Write your name in your workbook immediately. You will be charged for a replacement copy if you lose your workbook.
All instructional materials are checked out with a current Rowland ID on the Minga app or paper class schedule.
